Elizabeth joined the Utah Symphony in September, having previously served as\u00a0Principal Viola in Sarasota Orchestra. When she&#8217;s not practicing viola or Baroque recorder, Elizabeth enjoys cooking, and hiking Utah&#8217;s many beautiful trails.<\/p>\n<p>On Sunday&#8217;s recital, Elizabeth will be performing <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=2cGIjjqiXak\">Wild Purple<\/a> by <a href=\"http:\/\/composers.com\/joan-tower\">Joan Tower<\/a>,\u00a0which was written for <a href=\"http:\/\/www.chambermusicsociety.org\/artists\/artist\/paul_neubauer\">Paul Neubauer<\/a> and premiered in 1998.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I always thought of the viola sound as being the color purple. Its deep resonant and luscious timbre seems to embody all kinds of hues of purple. I never thought of the viola as being particularly wild.
