I am honored to be performing a wonderful collaboration with my dear friend and colleague <a href=\"http:\/\/www.utahsymphony.org\/the-orchestra\/symphony-roster\/255\">Roberta Zalkind.<\/a> Roberta is Associate Principal Viola of the Utah Symphony, she is a <a href=\"http:\/\/music.utah.edu\/faculty\/roberta-zalkind.php\">wonderful teacher<\/a> to many incredible students, a fabulous violist, and an all around fantastic duo partner.<img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1139 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/utahviolasociety.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/RZ-14-of-15-Edit.jpg?resize=500%2C400\" alt=\"RZ (14 of 15)-Edit\" width=\"500\" height=\"400\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/utahviolasociety.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/RZ-14-of-15-Edit.jpg?w=500&amp;ssl=1 500w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/utahviolasociety.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/RZ-14-of-15-Edit.jpg?resize=300%2C240&amp;ssl=1 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>We are pleased to be performing Katrina Wreede&#8217;s aptly named &#8220;Duo for Sunday.&#8221; \u00a0A former member of the Turtle Island String Quartet,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/katrinawreede.com\/bio\">Katrina Wreede<\/a> is a violist, <a href=\"http:\/\/katrinawreede.com\/store\">a composer<\/a>,\u00a0and a founder of <a href=\"http:\/\/composingtogether.org\/\">Composing Together,<\/a>\u00a0which brings together composers and students side by side.<\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-1135\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/utahviolasociety.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/RZ-2-of-15.jpg?resize=500%2C400\" alt=\"RZ (2 of 15)\" width=\"500\" height=\"400\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/utahviolasociety.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/RZ-2-of-15.jpg?w=500&amp;ssl=1 500w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/utahviolasociety.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/RZ-2-of-15.jpg?resize=300%2C240&amp;ssl=1 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Duo for Sunday is in three movements: Sunday, Rocking, and Tango? Each movement has elements of jazz tonalities and rhythms, and each viola has an equal role to play. It&#8217;s\u00a0whimsical, explores a full range of moods and characters,\u00a0and a even has dueling viola cadenzas!
